Accordion Treats

Apologies for the shadows in this pictures.  My house is not condusive to photographing food on weekdays. (Otherwise known as days when all cooking is done at night time because I have a day job.)

Accordion Treats are another family recipe that I remember having during the holidays for about as long as I can remember.  These gluten free versions are maybe a bit more fluffy than crispy and have to be very gently removed from the foil. Someday I would like to try making these dairy free by substituting coconut oil. But I'll save that for another day and let you enjoy the butter goodness of these!

And yes, you may also call these Banana Slug Cookies.

Obligatory Holiday Gift Guide

Taken near Lake Tahoe in California.

I will be spending today finishing up cooking up and then eating our Thanksgiving dinner, yum!  We delayed a day due to our work schedules and will be staying in Seattle.  For our party of five we will be having a petite organic turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, a fall salad, and four types of pie (pumpkin, apple, shoofly, and pecan). Clearly, we like pie.

Obligatory Thanksgiving Recipe Round Up

I have no "Thanksgiving" related photos to share, so I thought I'd share this one of Lake Tekapo on the South Island of New Zealand. I've been thinking a lot about New Zealand recently...I miss it.

This year we will be having our low key Thanksgiving on Friday due to our work schedules and we'll keep it pretty simple with a turkey, mashed yukon gold potatoes with all the toppings, herbed stuffing, some kind of green bean dish, and pecan pie. If anyone has recommendations on a good green bean cassarole dish, please share!
